Who you talk to and what to ask

How Our Network Works

Who You Talk To

When you send a request, you are routed to an independent roofing provider in our network. The person you speak with works for that provider, not for Commissionshorter Roofing. We stay out of the way once the introduction is made.

Providers are separate local businesses. Each one runs its own schedule, sets its own prices and does its own roofing work.

What Happens After You Reach Out

A provider will ask about your roof. Expect simple questions: how old it is, what material it uses, and what you have noticed, such as leaks, missing pieces or storm marks. Photos can help if you have them.

Next, the provider may suggest a roof visit and a written quote. Call hours vary by provider, so ask what times work for both of you. Request a callback to check provider availability in your area.

Ask Before You Sign

A good provider will not mind questions. Try these:

  • Can I see proof of license and insurance? A good answer is a clear yes, with documents.
  • What does the written quote include? Look for materials, tear-off, cleanup, permits and timing.
  • Who will be on my roof? Employees or subcontractors are both fine if the provider explains.
  • What happens if it rains mid-job? You want a plan for covering the open roof.
  • What upkeep do you suggest afterward? This shows the provider cares about the roof's life.

Red Flags to Notice

  • Pressure to sign on the spot.
  • A quote that is only spoken, not written.
  • A large payment demanded up front.
  • Vague answers about insurance or permits.
  • Claims that sound too good to be true.

If you see one of these, pause. You can say no and keep looking.

You Stay in Control

Requesting an estimate does not commit you to anything. You can compare quotes, take time at the kitchen table and ask a neighbor about their own roof. If you file an insurance claim, remember that some policies may cover sudden damage, so check your policy. Providers can often help document damage for a claim.
